Adam Kehler is the privacy and security specialist for Quality Insights of Pennsylvania, which serves as the Regional Extension Center for Pennsylvania East and West. Since January 2011, Mr. Kehler has visited more 500 providers to assist them in meeting meaningful use by conducting a security risk assessment. Mr. Kehler participated as a presenter in the 2011 NIST/OCR HIPAA Conference where he discussed challenges and best practices in health IT security. He also participated as a panelist in a March 2012 roundtable discussion hosted by ONC entitled "Mobile Devices Roundtable: Safeguarding Health Information", and most recently he presented at the Delaware Valley HIMSS 2013 Fall Chapter Event on the topic of "Practical Strategies for Meeting Security Requirements for Meaningful Use, HIPAA, and HITECH".
Mr. Kehler received his Bachelor's of Computer Science from the University of Manitoba and holds CISSP and certified HIPAA professional certifications. He has 18 years of information technology experience as a software developer, systems administrator, systems analyst, IT project manager, operations manager, and IT security specialist. Mr. Kehler has designed and implemented security systems, policies and procedures, and performed security consulting for many large and small organizations.
